Updated through Time Crystals. Warning for spoilers for the Arkham Files series
Alien Worlds
- Merope: Third planet of the star Merope in the Pleiades star cluster. Contains extensive forests. Homeworld to chittaks, Lavinia, and Phineas.
- Celaeno: Fourth planet of the star Celaeno in the Pleiades star cluster. Known to have an ocean, beaches, and multiple moons.
- Algol: Also known as the Demon Star. Algol is an eclipsing binary-star system. The variability in brightness is visible to the naked eye. As far back as ancient Egypt, it was considered unlucky. Algol is a member of the constellation Perseus and is considered to be the eye of Medusa's head. Neal named the new element they discovered algolnium in a nod to Algol. (See Chapter 5 of Visions from Beyond).
- Tirelia: A planet in the A-Brane parallel universe. Neal traveled to Tirelia in Visions from Beyond,The Locked Room, and Time Crystals. Tirelians closely resemble humans. Several representatives of the Ymar also dwell on Tirelia as well as a wide variety of wildlife. Among the native species are ghasts, nightgaunts, shantaks, gugs, and zoogs.
- A-Brane: A term coined by Mozzie to describe a parallel universe.
- Meropians: Representatives: Lavinia and Phineas.
- Celaenians: Former inhabitants of the planet Celaeno, they now exist as sentient energy. Before their transformation, they worked to banish the Ymar from Earth, leaving artifacts behind. According to Lavinia and Phineas, Neal has Celaenian DNA. His amulet was made by Celaenians.
- Tirelians: Inhabitants of the planet Tirelia, they resemble humans.
- Elnath: Alien race which colonized Earth early circa 12,000 BC. Conquered by the Ymar in 9,000 BC. Barrel-shaped torsos with tentacle-like appendances on the top of their heads and short wings. Their language sounds like meeps to humans.
- Ymar: Representatives: Azathoth, Nyarlathotep. Nyarlathotep has several aliases, including the Priest in the Yellow Silk Mask and the High Priest Not To Be Described. The Ymar have been guilty of despicable acts of destruction. They've attacked planets throughout the galaxy and enslaved populations to do their bidding. In 9,000 BC they invaded Earth. In the sixth millennium BC, the Celaenians succeeded in banishing the Ymar to the A-Brane. They also genetically altered them so they're incapable of traveling in wormholes. So far the Ymar have not figured out a way to overcome the restriction, but they have been successful in devising a workaround. They've formed an alliance with the zoogs and are dispatching them to act as their agents. They're also able to send ghasts as well as other creatures through wormholes. In recent centuries, the Ymar have succeeded in driving away Meropians from their planet and destroying the library at Celaeno. Their focus is now on Earth.
