Yuletide 2022

Dear Yuletide Writer,

Thanks for visiting! I'd be thrilled to read a story or treat from you. Below are general likes and dislikes, followed by notes and prompts for the fandoms I requested.

Likes:
  • Overall: I'm hoping for stories with happy endings and humor. I need to laugh, please!
  • Characters: I'm fine with including characters from canon beyond the ones I selected, and I welcome OCs as long as my selected characters are the stars.
  • Settings: Let your imagination go wild. I enjoy AUs. Metafiction is also something I like.
  • Rating: My preference is PG-13 or milder.
  • Crossovers: If it's something you want to try, I've added crossover notes below with my fandom-specific notes. I'm fine with any of the fandoms crossing over with Doctor Who or Pride & Prejudice.
Dislikes, Do Not Want:
  • Suffering (mental, physical, or emotional), abuse, assault, trauma, violence, serious illnesses, horror, gore, serious injuries, death, slavery
  • Explicit sex, bodily fluids
  • Character bashing or humiliation, bullying, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia
Fandom specific: (my notes are simply a starting point; if you already have an inspiration, go with it!)
  1. Cinderella 2021 - I love musicals, and I enjoy sly, meta moments when the characters are aware that suddenly bursting into a song is a thing that happens in their world. What if they disagree about whether this is a moment that calls for a song, or about what that song should be, or who should sing lead? Crossovers: I'm okay with crossovers with other fairytales.
  2. Dick Van Dyke Show - So much opportunity for humor and slapstick! I love cooking scenes, so a comic crisis in the kitchen would be fun. Another odd idea that occurred to me was if they attended a funeral or wake for someone they didn't really know, and something else is happening that strikes them as funny -- the more they try to stop laughing, the harder it becomes... Crossovers: I'd be interested in a crossover with TV comedies The Good Place or Good Omens or Psych.
  3. The Extraordinaries - I adore Nick being excitable and Seth being sweet and supportive. Crossovers: I'm okay with a crossover that includes characters from Guardians of the Galaxy.
  4. Galaxy Quest - There's a meta aspect to this movie that I love. I'd enjoy seeing the characters in space and recognizing the plot holes and flaws in the canon they're dealing with -- especially if they can use those plot holes or flaws their advantage. Crossovers: I'm okay with crossovers with Star Trek or Star Wars franchises.
  5. Much Ado About Nothing - Give me snark and banter and flirting! Crossovers: I'd be interested in a crossover with Hamlet, Macbeth, or Romeo & Juliet, where the Much Ado About Nothing characters are critiquing relationships in those plays.
  6. Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake - I love cooking competition shows on TV. Give me a cooking scene, and I'll be happy. It doesn't have to be competitive cooking, or it could be a cooking a normal meal that suddenly turns competitive... Crossovers: I'm okay with crossovers with Food Network shows or the Great British Baking Show.
Thanks again!
