Skating on Thin Ice

In this latest installment to the Caffrey Conversation series, the story opens, as is often the case, with Neal and Peter at work. But this year, their offices are at Winston-Winslow instead of the Federal Building. Neal joined Henry's company a little over three months ago. For Peter, it's only his second week at his new job. The year is 2007, four years after Neal accepted Peter's offer to work at the FBI. Will the year ahead bring as many changes as last year did?

That could be a tough challenge. In 2006, in addition to the job change, Neal discovered a lost Raphael painting which took care of any money issues. He and Sara also tied the knot last November. They weren't the only couple who had a milestone year. To name just a few other examples, Elizabeth Burke learned that she was pregnant in December, Henry and Eric got married in the summer, and Mozzie and Janet moved into their own suite in June's mansion.

So what can Skating on Thin Ice offer as a follow-up? How about secret conspiracies, glamorous locales, and a new long con? I've tossed in a few more career changes, new electronic gadgets, a sci-fi convention, and a chance for Klaus to turn over a new leaf.

The title of the story comes from a painting that hung in canon Neal's loft called The Skating Minister. The painting finds a new home in this story. As for who is skating on thin ice, I'll let you be the judge.
