Crossed Lines: Unholy Alliance

Zachariah is an angel on a mission. He's convinced that the Apocalypse needs to take place and is growing ever more frustrated that his efforts are being thwarted. Zachariah isn't a friend of Lucifer, but he has the misguided notion that the Apocalypse was meant to be and Lucifer is just the unsavory character to bring it about. He's not alone in his beliefs. Angels who support the Apocalypse believe that Earth can only be made into a paradise after it is cleansed.

Caution for spoilers to Bad Omens and Pirates of Manhattan

To achieve his objective, Zachariah has forged alliances with demons, witches, and the Greek god Thanatos—all in an attempt to free Lucifer from his Cage. Zachariah has secured their cooperation by assuring them that the Apocalypse will gain them freedom from persecution. In Thanatos's case, he'll no longer be confined to Oblivion.

In Bad Omens, Zachariah used the demon Dagon to search for The Book of Seals, a rare book that contains the details on how to unlock the seals of Lucifer's Cage. Dagon enlisted Gemma, one of Astrena's demigoddesses, to help her. When that effort failed, Zachariah tried to break up the alliance between Crowley, Castiel, and the Winchesters. That was the subject of Pirates of Manhattan. After two botched attempts, Zachariah decides to supervise personally what he's convinced will be a winning strategy.

In addition to Zachariah, two other familiar faces from Supernatural canon are featured in Unholy Alliance—Charlie Bradbury and Rowena MacLeod. Crowley's mum is a bit of a wild card. Whose side will she be on?
